About us:

Breaking Ground Radio (formerly Ministry Heat Radio Show) is a faith-based media company that was created by IAMDJLADYJ based in Charleston, SC. BGR (as MHR) started as a radio show then transitioned to a podcast now joined with co-host SASHA.SYMONE (Chs,SC). Since the transition BGR has expanded to becoming a 24/7 internet radio station and continues to look for more ways to grow.

How it all started:

I was sitting in the car one night listening to music and heard Holy Hip-Hop for the first time. I had never heard anything like it before. A couple days later I called the station to ask about what I heard. I was then invited to come to the station and sat in on my first live broadcast. At the end of the show I was afforded the opportunity to join the cast with no experience in radio. A few years later I became a broadcast engineer (at the same station) and DJ. I already had a love for music however I believe from that first interaction my passion for radio began. My vision is for others to experience the joy I felt and share the love I have for Christ. I’m ever so thankful for the doors/platforms God is allowing me to embark on and for all the opportunities I’m given.

Our mission:

We support indie artists by giving them platforms to push their ministry through various outlets (radio, podcast, website, social media, etc). To bridge the gap between hip-hop and the church. To share our faith to our community and beyond.
